Abyst

This is my entry in Visions in Color #2. I took a fairly straight-forward approach to the figure, and didn't get too 'wild' with it. I used all craft paints on this figure, so that I could get the colors that I wanted. The predominant color is a light green, with a darker green for the wing bones and some highlights on the figure. I painted the loincloth as a metallic purple, with a gold highlight, since, after all, he IS the King! I used fairly simple techniques on this figure, due to a lack of time. I used mostly washes, with drybrushing in-between, to get some depth to the skin texture. I was really unsure about the chest and arms, whether or not they were covered in scales, or in some kind of armor. In the end, I decided that it was the demon's skin, and painted it accordingly. The best part of the miniature, which shows up lousy in my scan, is the flame job I did to the sword. I used 5 different colors, and I think it came out very well.
I apologize for the terrible scans that I've had to include. I don't own a digital camera (YET!) and I didn't have the time to get regular pictures developed and scanned in. When I get the final overcoat on the figure, and get some real pictures taken of it, I will send those in to replace these for the showcase on the web page.
